So it appears that a fair number of us have got our flight gloves on one of those stunning X-Hangar Maule M-7s.

But we don't "officially" have them in inventory.

How about giving me a hand and telling me what hubs (or other Alaska locations that we fly to) should have a Maule located there? I would sure appreciate it.

Poll closes Friday September 12th @ 1900 AKDT.

Special bonus for those who respond by that time.

Cheers,

bc

Homer would love a Maule, centrally located close to many hubs + other strips, fields.

I did not see this thread until now.....

I'd like it at CYXQ (duh), PASW, PAMR, PABE, CFQ7, PAOR...

I want to have a Maule everywhere I fly :lol:

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I was sort of hoping for a reasoned approach to this.

For instance, there isn't a lot of sense having the Maule where we are already overloaded with bush planes. For instance, I'm certain that Merrill Field probably doesn't need any. Same as Northway, which is used more as a long-field in-transit stop.

If you want a Maule everywhere you go, then the opportunity to change your personal aircraft will be upon you soon enough.

So there went my choice. ;) (PAMR)... My other thought was PAGA? It is shown as a secondary hub on the map but we don't have any aircraft stationed there yet. Can't believe that I've never noticed this before, especially with my familial connection to Galena. Not knowing the time frame of implementation may render this suggestion irrelevant, but I do know first hand from a family member that a STOL (snow, water, off airport land) capable aircraft would be useful here. Especially in providing contract flights to the USFWS as they conduct population surveys, hunting checkpoints, etc... in the Koyukuk, Nowitna, and Innoko (Northern Unit) Wildlife Refuges.

I believe that almost any defined "secondary hub" without ANY aircraft should have at least a Maule, if not another craft also, capable of carrying more payload than the Maule. If that's only PAGA, so be it. If there are others, add at least a Maule.

Which deadline are we talking about here? The one that ends September 8th or the one that ends Friday (the 12th ;) )?

There was an ol' pilot named Joel,

Who insisted on taking a poll,

But his dates didn't match,

So confusion was hatched.......

Haven't been to Icy Bay yet... but it was on my list for tonight. Might be getting the preflight jitters.

Or maybe... (Oh nevermind... never say anything bad about your boss).

Alright, alright... I changed it.

I admit it. I used my admin powers (I call it The Force) and changed the first post.

I made a mistake.

There.

I said it.

No, I haven't fogotten about the Maule and getting some to Alaska. :D

Just waiting for PAMR to be finished. Then I will release the departure airport scenery for the 4 pilots above who answered the poll and next thing you know, we'll have the Maule in our Alaskan inventory.

Cheers,
