Would there be anyone interested about adding Bell 407 at EPOCH´s fleet. I heard that EPOCH Worldwide Charter Holdings had a good offer for one used Bell 407, in mint condition. :)

Unfortunately there isn´t a freeware version of it. The default Bell 206 is the closest one i know, correct if im wrong.

The 407 is on Daily deals at the org, every now and then. I bought it for 19,95 when it was on sale.

I'll keep an eye on this thread Finn and if it seems to gain traction with the other pilots, then I'll have a talk with the Board of Directors of Worldwide and we can see about the possibility.

I made this topic sticky for a while so everyone can find it :)

Cheers,

Finn, bc, the Bell 407 is my only chance to be a contender for this years Valdez Air Show Helo competition.  I hope is is available.  It has a "Kiddie Mode".

Calling all Chopper Pilots, CSL is ready to go.  All we need is enough interest to add the B407 to EPOCH's inventory.  The following shows Finn's expertise with this bird.  I am flying the one blue/yellow bird in the foreground, Finn is in the distance.

Hey Dirob, you say you're flying, looks like you are on the ground. Check out Finn, he is flying in the air. That's what you're supposed to do. For you it's probably safer to fly on the ground.

Golly gofigure,

I thought flying started when the ol' Hobbs started moving.  Maybe today it is "Wheels Up".  Shucks, I ain't got no wheels.  You're probably right, Safer staying on the ground.

I'd say that expertise is a"bit" excaggerated term, when talking about my Helicopter flying skills. :D Wobbly might be closer, with a couple of oops and a he's coming right at us, everybody get down, for goodness sake. Thanks to your excellent CSL, it makes my flying look good, Dirob.

Hello tlbt,

the CSLs are for use with online servers eg. X-flightserver and VATSIM.  I believe they work for V9 or v10, not sure though.

CSL's are good for both V9 and V10.

The aircraft model however is for V10.3+

Nobody has yet found a V9, free or payware, which makes it kind of tough in our mixed V crowd.

I ran across this one today, pretty old but might be a good on for V9ers.

Good catch, Dirob. I tried to find one also, but apparently my googling skills aren't up to date. ;) Hope it works for V9 users.

Geez, I consider myself fairly adept at research but I did not find that one either guys. Way to go Dirob :) . By the way, it would need to be run through Planemaker once in Version 10 to be flyable in V10, I believe. Nice to know if anyone's game.

This essentially means that we can consider the Bell 407 for inclusion into the fleet. Sure would be nice to have some consensus with the other rotor flyers though, like gofigure, tlbt and others. That would cement the deal for sure :P

The Bell 407 is comperable to the AS-350 and MD-902 (EPOCH act) as far as passenger capacity. Though the MD-902 has 2 engines and much longer range.

I say "you can't have too many helicopters"

A nice used one on the net is $1,750,000 and newer used ones for a little more i.e. $2,450,000 :P

Well, we sure have a mittful of single-engine bush planes that have very similar characteristics, so I don't think we can exclude based on mission duplication.

Good to see you weigh in gofigure. Your well-thought-out analysis and final conclusion must come close to tipping the scale, surely

There are always missions that would come up that the 407 would fit in perfectly...power line patrol in th S-92 just doesn't cut the realism mustard.....And althought the Hughes 500 series is a main stay in "outback world"  and I love it dearly..it is really limited in pax space!

It seems to work fine right out of the box in v10.

Okay, qualifiers are all intact. Thanks for the final piece ottopilot9.

So, Finn, how about opening a new post Here In Locator Links and, following the format of other craft in the topic, add the 407 (that's like, tag - you're it :P ). Then take a look at the Aircraft Database Here and PM me with the details and I shall add it to the database.

No need to have it held by EWH - this can enter the fleet as a Standard, since a few of you seem passionate about its role and value.

Cheers, and good work all,
