Look out Buffalo Airways, EPOCH has a DC-3/C47 with skis. Not rushing the snow, just getting ready for it.

Leaving Beaver Creek and looking good.

Well it's about time we had at least one of these around. :)

Geez, I have a YT link somewhere showing a -3 landing on a lake to discharge gear. Have to go looking for it!

Good work sir :D . Now I'm assuming that is Heinz's model, yes? Any chance of telling us how to do that, or is it a huge job not for the mild mannered? It would be difficult to get permission to release it I think, so if there is a way we could do this, why that would be cool!!!

Thanks JJ & AV8R & bc it does look cool.

bc, yes it is one of Heinz's 3s. I can tell you how to do it in 2,000 words or more.             Not a huge job, a few hours once you know the steps. Plotting the cross sections takes the most time. Fun learning something new. I think even you could do it. :P

I'm sure at this time there is no way of releasing/sharing/uploading a modified Heinz payware act as freeware. Not sure what will happen down the road with Heinz's planes.

I am willing to do a day/date/time lesson on TS for all who want to learn/do this type of stuff. Once the process is learned other bodies can be built i.e. canoe, paddles for floats, cargo pods etc.

I don't think EULs prohibit this since you are doing it for your own act. I know I cannot share an act. EUL asside, I don't know how or if misc bodies can be shared (Dropbox, e-mail etc.) or even from one of your planes to another but, I will see if there is a way. As far as my current understanding, the process has to be done for each plane. Not sure how  builders do it like Carinado and others do it.

Hi gofigure,

Well fortunately, misc bodies, when developed completely by oneself, can be shared. The process for attaching them can be shared (text/video tutorial/online etc.). Just the .acf file cannot be shared nor any of the author's original assets.

So this looks doable, and thanks for your generous offer. Let's hang on and see who else might be interested.

Cheers sir,

FYI all. I built my own plane from scratch, I added skis. A ski can be used as a teaching tool for plotting other things you want to add to an act i.e. canoe, cargo pod. Since I built the plane it is mine, if I want to share it I can. If you see it, it will be obvious that I built it. ;) It is a very basic plane. If you ask for it, don't expect to fly it. :D

Anyone wanting to do this, let me know in this post. I will be e-mailing (not Dropbox) the plane w skis. So at some point I will need your e-mail address.

The skis are large skis for larger planes like the DC-3. The ski size can be changed.

Okay so the offer of skis is still available. The skis can be downsized for smaller planes or larger in the case of a Boeing 777 or A-380 or your dads B-737

I shall watch here for a couple of days for anyone else, other than ottopilot9 and myself, having interest in this.

The process of doing it will be twofold; initial layout files and a bit of text and then at least 2 hours on TeamSpeak as gofigure walks us through the process.

Thank you Bob for such a generous offer of your time and expertise. I'll connect with Opie and anyone else via PM/email this weekend and get you a few options based on the schedule that you sent me. So sit back and relax and we'll mind-meld soon :D

Cheers,
