Hi guys! I've just seen on the STMA site, that they have just released the Heinz's Beech 18, for which they had acquired the rights. More info here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=29281

Neat! Thanks for the scoop. FYI everyone: The price is $20.95. Who will be the first to get one and post a review?

A $10.00 discount available for existing Heinz BE18 owners. "Owners of Heinz's Beech 18 should send an email to sales@x-plane.org or papamac@shadetreemicro.com to receive a discount code and will be able to purchase this new model for only $10.95"

Not available to Heinz' v9.7 users, however. I suppose I could get one for v10 and just put it in the hanger till I upgrade (sometime next year).

For those of you that may get this Be-18: It looks nice. The thing flies about 20 kts faster than it should and is only drawing fuel from the left tank. I've been in touch with PapaMac about this and they are on it. Should have an update next week.

Ah yes, the fuel draw thing that plagued the original. Thanks for poking Jim about that, Jerry. Off to pick it up bc

This morning I managed to get my 10.4 rebuilt, only to find out when I opened the Be18 folder and read the readme files, that I could use it in 10.35. Way to go, Org Store (who put in Requirements the latest stable subversion - always pushing people to keep up to date even if things aren't broken - okay, rant over). Happily, all was working but I had to run into the office, so it awaits my return for a bit of test flying! In the meantime, I grabbed a pile of screenies as well as discovered something interesting: - with just a name change to part of the livery files, the old Heinz ones can be used on here. - you can mix and match external paints to panel colours (3 panel colours to choose from). Handy eh? Okay, without further blabber, here are some screenies, sitting on the tarmac at Beaver Creek for a couple and Vancouver for most of the rest. Frame rates are very good, even with HDR etc. I was in the high 40s, low 50s with custom scenery with my new 980 card. The usual Shade Tree left-hand side dock comes with this craft for some special functions as well. Overall, it looks like it will be a nice flight experience, and I do appreciate the delicate and seemingly honourable way that they have brought this darling of Heinz's forward. Good on you, Jim McNeil. bc
