Hey there guys and girls of this wonderful amazing group. Was browsing through my aircraft in my hanger, and realised that i really don't have anything small. Was looking through the org store, thinking of a small bush tail dragger (plus floats for the new EPA ops) and saw both the husky and the cub. Both look nice, and booth seem like great bush aircraft. Of them, which of the two would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance as always, you guys rock!

I'd check x-hangar. Gerald has some small bush planes, believe he has a super cub. Nice thing about his is you can easily add or remove instruments. Of the two STMA planes I prefer the super cub over the husky.

Well, shoot, it looks like STMA aren't bundling the Husky, Cub and Beaver into a "Bush Package" the way they were when I got them. I like the Husky, and they've been promising to bring out the A-1C for some time now. However, for EPA ops you might want to check out the Cessna 172N over at X-Hangar, since a C172 is one of our "official" craft. Carenado's 172 works fine too, but the other one includes a taildragger variant with big tires, and will set you back less in the wallet department, especially with our EPOCH discount.

From STMA, I prefer the Super Cub over the Husky, although that may change if the upgrades improves the Husky whenever it comes out. That said, X-Hanger's Super Cub is quite nice and does quite well for your "Bush Flying" adventures. The Double Ender by X-Hanger is great if you want Super Cub type airframe with twin engines and extreme stol capabilities both on and off water. I do concur with bc in that the 172N by X-Hanger is a good all around performer and does well in EPOCH areas of operations. If you like low and slow, take a look at Dreamfoil creations Aero Boero, it's a good little flyer, immersive sounds, but it's not equipped for the bush and spanish labelling on the panel. All in all, you have options:)

Have to agree with ottopilot9 about the X-Hangar bushies. While not soaked in HD eyecandy on the panel, at least you can easily mod them and I have found few faults with the flight models on any of them. Of the STMA models, I actually prefer the Husky. My favourite Piper Cub however is still that funky little PA11 by Alcala (freeware), complete with 3D pit, next to no nav/com instrumentation (compass / handheld com radio) and great customization. Flies like a charm. Comes complete with a wheeled version and a pure float version If you're interested in trying the PA11 out, here's the links: Cheers, bc

Well Go Figure (not the member That SuperSTOL he's building is the one that Steve from WildWest Aircraft used in the DeadStick Landings video that we gave away as a prize a couple of times, here and at the Org. We had the tailwheel contest first and then a half year or so later, the Idaho Bush Country challenge. Steve, the pilot, judged the latter contest for us with his wife Cheers, bc

Hi there thanks for all the fantastic replies. I have the Carenado C172N already, and i've looked into X Hanger aircraft. the Maule has caught my eye, but again i feel its a little too large. I have c206s, 185s, the fantastic Beaver, the A36, and more. I wanted something small.

The X-Hangar Bush Xplorer (the small two seater) is an absolute hotrod and a lot of fun to fly. It'll land on a postage stamp and take off from one. Might be worth a look for you.

Very good point bminton. I had forgotten that. Heck, I did some pretty amazing flying (if I might say so) in the Valdez Challenge with that craft. Best in its class (homebuilt / experiemental /LSA) IMHO. bc

Another great little package is the Tecnam P92 Eaglet. It includes 3 versions including an amphibian which has a very simple GPS. It will display a fms plan but is really just a simple moving map. Price for the package is 10 Euros. Details at http://www.dmax3d.com/gs/tecnam-p92. I only just remembered that I had purchased it a few years ago and had forgotten what a nice little aircraft it is.

Fellas, the AeroBoero is a fabulous plane..I picked it up as payware, but it does fly very well, even give you the airframe vibrations from the engine, and is just very well done. Added a gps popup for giggles and it's great for sightseeing
