Where are we going?

What will we be doing?

Other details?

Well, the first two are secret... okay with the exception of a very deep and subtle teaser statement in a moment.

The last one...

Optimally, you will be flying in V10.51, although it appears that V11 can certainly be used and even has an extra in the Gateway to help out that V10s didn't have. Oh... and if you are still quite stuck on V9.7, let me know. The conversions for this Vacation will not be horribly hard so I could surely be talked into it :P . You will need your bush planes and maybe the odd other thing or two

The Teaser Statement of the Day:

"If you can see through it, you can fly through it!"

Cheers and a huge nod of amazement if anyone picks the location from this teaser :D

Ow.  I think I pulled a brain-muscle contemplating the teaser.

@Rocky:

You'll get a splash out of your guess when you get the reveal on Saturday but ultimately, nope!

Second Teaser:

[overheard in one of the hangars at Beaver Creek as one mechanic talks to another - both in the know about the Vacation]

"The only difference between those guys and our guys is that those guys don't fly"

[loud guffaws followed...]

Cheers,

Well, you can see through a flak barrage, but that doesn't sound like much of a vacation...

Hmmm. I see your point, although that does remind me of departing Illiamna Lake last spring - mosquitoes the size of bombers... what :O .

Something involving parachutes.  As in, "we fly, they fall".

"getting easier"

I don't think so!

Based on the previous image, I learned...

"Spotted hyenas are the largest of three hyena species. Brown and striped hyenas are the other two. Although hyenas appear similar to dogs, they are actually more closely related to cats. They live throughout much of Africa and eastwards through Arabia to India. Spotted hyenas live together in large groups called clans that may include up 80 individuals and are led by females."

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/s/spotted-hyena/

Are we going to Africa?

Combined with "If you can see through it, you can fly through it!", maybe this musical reference applies...

It's gonna take a lot to take me away from you

There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do

I bless the rains down in Africa

Gonna take some time to do the things we never had…

Still, I cannot fathom what "The only difference between those guys and our guys is that those guys don't fly" might mean.  Flightless birds?

Holy crap Rocky, a guy's gotta be careful with the clues for sure!

So I have to give you this....

Yes. Africa. Unbelievable sleuthing work mate!

But...

The tighter clue, that is, where in Africa we might be going (it's a helluva big place), is a whole lot easier with the clue that you aren't close to - not flightless birds though even that answer made me grin given that it can be seen sort of close in an indirect way, almost

Man, if there was a prize, you'd surely grab it. Might want to go on a game show that does this sort of thing, if there is one. Might make yourself some coin :D

Cheers,

bc

Final Clue(s)

Okay, let's narrow Africa down a bit, shall we. The first clue (which will also be the Official Music Video of the 2017 EPOCH Vacation) will get us into the country. The second clue is somewhere in this post as well :P which should refine our Area of Operations :) .

Releasing the Day One info tomorrow!

Am I the only contestant on this game show?  :o

Very well then.

Alex, "What is the The Okavango Delta in Botswana?"

BTW, cool guitar video.  I'm gonna have that melody playing in my head all night.  ;)

Haha. I'm still wondering how the heck I could ever -EVER- play a guitar like that. Wow!

You do seem to be the only one who has the time or could be bothered, you and sticky, but good enough for me. We have had over a hundred views on this topic so has to be more than just us, and the site is showing 62 unique visitors out of which 55 of them hit the Forum today, so I reckon the lurker count is there anyhow. This week we will have downloads of scenery from others but next week, when my own custom package is released for Day 2 and beyond of the Vacation, I'll let you know how many downloads it gets. Nobody's usually shy about grabbin' a freebie for sure :P

Anyhow, you are CORRECT!

The Okavango Delta is our primary fun area, full of tourist resorts and safari opportunities. There are a couple of other great destinations as well and my usual blend of fun and frolic, although we're not dabbling with cars, boats or odd flying machines this year. Core flying for all!

Cheers Rocky, and thanks for playing along. Watch tomorrow late afternoon for the release of Day One and I'll see you for the NightFlight as well.

Wow, cool.  Rocky's got a great mental process working there.  As for me, well, it was more like Curly of The Three Stooges:  I'm tryin' to think, but nothin' happens!"

Yeah sticky, Rocky scares me. :O

Those hints should not have been that easy - or else he stayed up late nights researching convoluted threads of ideas. Should've talked him into a few liveries to keep him occupied...

Ummm, gosh gofigure, shoot me now!

Although, I'd give up my Fender Gibson for a chance to be in their band :P

Yeah, that's their shtick -- the sexy-cute aerobics while playing.  Note that the sensible one with the P-bass has her feet firmly on the ground, as do I with mine.  We bassists may be a stodgy lot, but it's better for everybody that way.  8)

Yeah, bc, I wanna be in their band, too....NOT.  I don't need the kind of Kitchen Department trouble that would stir up!  Plus, I'm a heart patient, y'know...poor ol' ticker would, uh, time out during rehearsal!!

Yeah, I know all about you bass players. My bass guy in the 90s left our rock band to play for the North Bay Symphony... from a fine 5 string to a standup double bass. Good grief, his upper lip actually ended up sticking out further just like all double players it seems.

Geesh, loyalty for the music. From Ramble On by Zep to the Four Seasons :O .

But heck, I'm not even into playing country and I'd still join the jumping girls band. Didn't say I was gonna jump though... my older moves are way smoother than that

My doctor did say light aerobics for my ticker... figures well but now I have to convince Mama Girl who doesn't jump of course :P
