Hiya Pilots,

We all love a great show, and nothing tells the story better than a well-executed screen shot. Please feel free to drop your shots in this thread for us to oooh and aaaah over :)

Cheers,

Really like this livery, not sure why. Heinz's C-182 Skylane, I just added the skis and painted them. Tested the skis on some snow and ice. Currently sitting on the lake near 4902 Iditarod Willow and the trail.

Flight originated out of Merrill with appropriate "PAMR Plate" departer procedure followed. It is a preliminary check flight for the Iditarod starting tomorrow Saturday 3-3-18. Plate info for PAMR Merrill in scenery package "PAMR Merrill Field Anchorage AK (Full 1025+)V11" > Maps_Docs > PAMR Plates, use Ship Creek Dep.png & Common Pattern Entry 25, 34,  5-23 unless conditions or directed otherwise.

That's okay gofigure. I'm only going to land where Lewey Air lands - after all, a DC-3 that doesn't get stuck in wheel kit should bode well for my tiny little thing :D

Just finished #304 from PAMR to Willow to Yentna and back with overloads :P

Here I am in a rather featureless landscape once you get out of the city. On my way to Willow. The Husky is perfoming well, even with several hundred pounds extra sagging her belly...

More boxes to add to the already formidable pile of gear at Willow. Picked up an extra hour of fuel here too, since I came out pretty low due to cargo weight.

Leaving Willow, on climbout, looking back at the small frozen-over lakes of the flatlands.

Yentna Station, in the forest cutout top-of-pic. Time to crank the skis down! That's the Yentna River there.

No hop, no matter how short or long, ever seems to get past 'Mother' . Socked in a bit with vis at 3 miles max, snow squalls dropping to the ground in places and a darned high risk of icing.

Made it back to Merrill, where the weather tamed a bit. Overflew Sleeper's and then grabbed the City Center reporting spot and swung north for a landing on the gravel strip. Taxiied off the east end to Iditarod and tied her up and plugged the holes :) .

Great fun. Thanks Team!

Night Flight Pics

Started at the Iditarod Ramp at Merrill, which included snow and light winds. My craft iced up a bit before leaving, so I had to use some Jungle Juice™ on it (De-Ice Structure) and wait 5 minutes until I was clean enough to safely depart. Here's what it looked like...

Willow however was clear from a thousand feet down to the ground, so it was easy after landing at Wasilla, picking up the tech gear and departing with just a bit of snow in the air. Here's Willow...

and lastly, Fire Island. Gonna be a lot of snow by nightfall if this keeps up :O

All in all, another great Iditarod flight with friends on TeamSpeak tonight.

Cheers all,

bc

Changed to the old STMA 180 in FWA colours for the leg to Willow. Here's the mandatory shot of the giant bear.

Focus on weather...

Does the range ever get clear? Well, yes, but not late afternoon today during run from Skwentna to Nikolai. Here's Rainy Pass:

and of course no trip is complete with SCUD :P

Nikolai was fine though...

Tomorrow (daytime) looks good though, at least from the western edge of the range through to McGrath.

Cheers,
